Good News and Palm Canyon Hike

First off the good news.
Anita (my daughter) finished her last required baby delivery before midnight last night. She is completing her Master's Degree in Nursing to be a Licensed Nurse Midwife. Her personal goal was to deliver her required 55 babies before the end of the year. She delivered her last 2 on New Years eve and was still home in time to see the ball come down. Anita has a few more loose ends to tie up before she can sit for her national boards but it's all down hill from here. Now all she has to do is to find that dream job.

Palm Canyon
Cheryl and I drove up to Indian Canyons today to do some hiking in Palm Canyon. This is part of the Agua Caliente band of the Cahuilla Indian Reservation just outside Palm Springs. There are 3 canyon hiking areas. Bob and Karen hiked in here several days ago and really enjoyed it so we thought we'd give it a try. We hike about 3 miles with the temperature in the mid 70s. It was great. Most of the following photos are self explanatory.

The trail down.
The oasis at the bottom of the canyon.
A friendly lizard

Barrel Cactus
The snow on the distant mountains.
