Tualitan Hills Nature Park
This excellent park is about a mile from our house. Cheryl and I have spent many hours walking and watching the critters. Its a 220 acre natural park in the middle of Beaverton with about 5 miles of trails. Even though its very popular we ofter walk for a half hour without seeing more that one or two other hikers. The amount of wildlife is almost startling.
As you can see by this squirrel in the top picture they are not afraid of being seen. We've seen deer, rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks, snakes (friendly) many birds, including hawks. The park is also home to a pack of coyotes and a group of bobcats. We've heard the coyotes but never seen them or the bobcats.
While the hawk was finishing dinner s/he was not at all disturbed by me taking pictures. The chipmunk on the other had would only let me get to about 15 feet away. My next shot was going to be the really good one. One of the great things about the park is that its open all year round. As we walk there regularly we've enjoyed the changing seasons. Right now all the flowers are blooming and the baby critters are starting to show themselves.
