Yesterday while Cheryl and I were driving to an area in West Portland we wanted to hike in (Forest Park) we saw this beauty while we were passing through a neighborhood. When we first saw him he was standing on these folks sidewalk and grazing on their lawn. When I got out of the car to take pictures he moved closer to their house and continued to eat. I suspect I'm not the first person to shoot (photograph) him as he didn't seem to mind at all. I think he actually posed for me.
I can't tell you how many hours in my younger years I spent in the woods with a rifle hoping to see this guy. I guess God has a sense of humor.Cheryl and I leave early tomorrow morning to fly out to Nashville. Alex will drop us at the airport and recover us when we return. We are quite excited about this trip and have been exchanging emails with Patti about our visit with her and Jim in Kentucky.
