If you trying to figure out what the squirrel has to do with us getting ready for our next vacation....well nothing. He was raiding my bird feeder and I took this shot just as he was escaping. He's enjoys it much more than any birds do.
Cheryl and I will fly out on Sunday for a much anticipated vacation in Nashville, Tn and Lexington, Ky. We've been planning this for many months and are quite excited. Even though we spent 4 years living in Georgia, we've never been to Nashville. More importantly we will get a chance to visit Jim and Patti in Lexington for a few days. Our friendship goes back many years and many moves. This will be the first time we've visited them in Lexington.
My plan is to blog our adventures as they occur. The Park City vacation was a trial run and worked well in spite of a very poor wireless connection. Cheryl promises me a better connection in Nashville. No rustic, historic hotels this time but a new state of the art resort with all the amenities. I must confess that I'm the one who found the Park City Hotel. It was just as described sans the wireless connection and no air condition. We learned to beware of the word "rustic". I guess they didn't need air conditioning in 1880.
When we return from the South I'm sure Cheryl will have reacquired her southern accent. I know Granddad Gorbutt would have enjoyed it.
As a side note, today would have been my mother's 93d birthday. How the world has changed in those 93 years.
