Getting Ready for Christmas

As difficult as it is to believe Christmas Eve is one week from today. Monday evening (during the snowstorm) Alex helped us decorate our tree. It was a lot of fun to watch him and Cheryl reminisce over old ornaments. Our family has continued a tradition from Cheryl's family of each person getting a special ornament for Christmas. We then put the persons name on it along with the year it represents. Often the ornament has some special significance centered around our life at the time. Alex seems to have a lot of dinosaurs and Ninja Turtles from his early years.
I wonder why......

Speaking of snow storms. We are in the middle of part two of our snow storm. The temperature is warmer but the snow flakes are just as big. The wind picked up this afternoon. So far no power outages in our area but about 15,000 folks in Portland were without power for a couple of hours this morning.

My new Honda CR-V performs beautifully in the snow and ice. The reason I traded in my Prius was this very reason. It performed horribly on ice. Cheryl and I are both very happy with it. This storm has been a great test for it. Apparently part three of the storm will arrive this weekend just in time for winter. We'll see.......
