I made it down to the MAX station to pick Alex up this morning. He spent the last 36 hours stuck at work. He tried to go home this morning but the only MAX line running was out this way. Fortunately he doesn't have to work again until tomorrow night so he can get a little rest.
One of our big concerns is the weight of the snow and ice bringing down trees or limbs. This is the first damaged we've had, so we're pretty happy so far. Some of the neighbors have been getting on their roofs and pushing the snow off for fear the weight will damage their house. I'm not climbing on my roof for any reason. Some storage units have collapsed from the weight on the flat roofs. This is my herb garden and garden table in the back yard. The only thing showing is the tips of some Rosemary. The news just reported that tomorrow will be pretty much like today. They are predicting another inch or two tonight and have extended the Winter Storm Warning through Wednesday. The temperature got up to 26 today but no wind in our area. The temperature should get back above freezing either Friday or Saturday.

Still More Snow
We're starting to get cabin fever. No work again today as the Portland area is still snowed in. Since this time yesterday we've added about 4 more inches of snow. The neighborhood looks beautiful with all the snow. There are very few people out on the streets. Chains are required but the snow in the neighborhoods hasn't been plowed so many of the cars can't get through even with chains. All the snow removal equipment is being used to keep the highways open. Even with that several have been closed. Interstate 84 is still closed between Portland and Hood River.
