The Scott's Are Out!
On Saturday Alex and I packed up out clan tent and joined about 20 other clans for the Eugene Scottish Festival. This is the first outdoor festival of the season and is kindly hosted by Peace Presbyterian Church in Eugene. This was their 6th annual event and Clan Scott has been there the last five.
It was very hot. Over 90 degrees at an event where 4 of the last 5 years it rained. We survived and had a great time. This was Alex first Scottish festival since returning from Arizona. I think he missed doing all this last year.
While there were only a few Scotts who stopped by to say hi there were a lot of Scots at the festival. I was great to renew friendships with a lot of the other clan representatives and swap stories. Some of them might have actually been true.
The phrase "The Scott's Are Out" was a warning to other border clans and the English, that riders from Clan Scott were out in force and looking for something to raid. We mostly raided the food on Saturday and we've traded our horses for a Prius. You can't get many sheep in it but the gas mileage is great.

You and Alex looks great in you kilts, but he needs a big ol' sword to finish his look.
